The new UNILAB Power Signal Generator has been simplified to allow ease of use in the classroom. The new design is compact and lightweight for easy storage and transport around the physics lab.

The generator now features a digital display function screen, which displays the waveform and allows students to visualise the different shapes of the selected wave. Waveform can be selected from Sine, Square, Ramp, Pulse and Aux.

The five menu selection keys are neatly displayed next to the screen to easily activate the corresponding menu function.

It can produce a wide range of signals from 1Hz to 1mHz in Sine Wave output, and 1Hz to 400kHz in the other waveform outputs.

There are low and high impedance outputs and also an internal speaker that can be turned on and off.

Frequency is controlled by using the selection keys on the side of the screen, then adjusted and controlled using the main dial on the front of the instrument. The selected frequency will be displayed on the main screen underneath the selected waveform. Similarly, the amplitude can be selected and adjusted using the menu keys and the main dial. The selection keys are also used to select the required waveform function.

There is a separate speaker control key that can be used to turn the internal speaker on or off. The speaker volume can be controlled when using the low impedance.

There is an auxiliary input for amplification of an external signal such as a microphone or music player.

The instrument is ideal for powering large speakers and is necessary for driving the Philip Harris Vibration Generator or Rubens tube to allow students to explore vibrations and waves.

The new design is compact, lightweight and ergonomically pleasing. It features a convenient cable holder that can also function as a carry handle. Furthermore, it’s intelligent design includes stacking slots, allowing for efficient space saving storage by stacking multiple units securely.

  • Sine, Square, Ramp, Pulse and Aux waveforms
  • Amplitude and Frequency modulation
  • Instrument amplifier for amplification of signal generator or external input
  • Continuously variable output
